Bazar Bizar Sumba #19 sandstone sculpture on stand, natural, 16 cm

Name: Bazar Bizar Sumba #19 sandstone sculpture on stand, natural, 16 cm
Brand: BAZAR BIZAR

Sumba #19 by Bazar Bizar is a hand-carved sandstone sculpture with an elongated face raised on a black stand. The pale natural stone contrasts with a slender support and rectangular base. Round eye openings, a long nose and a heart-shaped mouth outline distinguish this design from the other Sumba faces.A small sculpture with a visible standThe decoration measures 16 cm high, 8 cm wide and 5 cm long. Compare these measurements with the space available on a shelf or cabinet, especially when placing it beside books or other objects. This is a small piece to appreciate at close range rather than a large floor sculpture. The stand is made of iron, and the stone section cannot be removed from it. Plan the display around the complete object rather than treating the face and base as separate pieces. The dark rectangular foot remains visible beneath the stone and forms part of its outline.Hand-carved sandstone from SumbaThe manufacturer identifies the Indonesian island of Sumba as the origin of these hand-carved sculptures. Natural material and hand carving mean that colour and small surface details can vary between pieces. The photographs show the character of this design, not an identical pattern of marks in every individual stone. The simplified face and contrast of pale stone with a black support suit ethnic-inspired and boho arrangements. Display it on its own in a living room, bedroom, hallway or study, or leave space between several sculptures so that each face remains distinct.Keep cleaning dryRemove dust with a soft dry cloth or brush. Bazar Bizar advises avoiding water and harsh cleaning products because porous sandstone can absorb moisture. The natural surface texture is part of the decoration's appearance, rather than a finish that needs to be polished into a uniform shine.Show more
